JOINT MOBILIZATION IN VICTORIA, BC
A gentle, hands-on technique to ease pain and help stiff joints move better.
What Is Joint Mobilization?
Joint mobilization is a gentle technique that combines traction (a light pull) with slow, small gliding movements within the joint’s natural range.
It works on the joint capsule and the soft tissue around it. The movement stimulates sensory receptors called mechanoreceptors, which helps restore the small, involuntary movements a healthy joint makes when it moves.

Joint Mobilization at Broadmead
Feodor Mongin, R.TCM.P, provides joint mobilization at our Victoria clinic. He combines needling techniques, hands-on manipulative therapies and client education. Feodor has a special interest in sports injuries and pain that limits movement.
HOW JOINT MOBILIZATION HELPS
Joint mobilization affects how the nervous system responds, which helps to:
- Reduce pain signals
- Relax muscle guarding (the protective tightening around a sore joint) and tight soft tissue around the joint
- Improve range of motion
- Improve how the joint moves and functions
Joint Mobilization and Tui Na
Joint mobilization is also part of Tui Na, the hands-on manual therapy used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Tui Na combines acupressure, soft tissue release and joint mobilization techniques.
Feodor also provides acupuncture, and he is part of our sports rehab, back pain, tendonitis and rotator cuff injury teams.

One Coordinated Team
Feodor works alongside our physiotherapists, chiropractor and naturopathic doctor, so joint mobilization can be part of one coordinated plan for your recovery.
